And we continue the Leap Day awesomeness with 3 new trailers, each coming from Walt Disney in some way. The first is the newest trailer for Marvel’s The Avengers (Disney owns its distribution rights); the second is the last trailer for Disney’s John Carter; and the third and final trailer is for Disney-Pixar’s Brave.
I’m not going to get into much else other than these quick thoughts:
1) The Avengers trailer is awesome. Lots of action to be seen, and it seems that all of it is from one scene in the flick, so expect a lot more from where that all came from.
2) John Carter looks like the most difficult film to market. The book it is based on is popular, yes, but Edgar Rise Burroughs (the book’s helmer) isn’t a household name. Director Andrew Stanton has a knack for story-telling (WALL-E, Finding Nemo), but it wouldn’t seem right to market a PG-13 sci-fi action film as being “From the director of WALL-E and Finding Nemo.”
3) I’m still hopeful that, with Brave, Pixar can return to form after its brief stumble with Cars 2 (which admittedly wasn’t as bad as everyone claims), and this new trailer appears to be a step in the right direction.
And with that, I give to you the most recent trailers for The Avengers, John Carter, and Brave. Let us know what you think about each in the comments section!
